Well, my friends, we are now in the year 2011. Is it just me, or has 2010 just flown by? My dad and I were taking down our Christmas (that is right, I said Christmas, deal with it) tree today, and it seemed like we just put it up yesterday. People always told me that time goes faster the older you get. As I've gotten older, I can say that it is true.
As we begin this new year, you've probably took time to reflect on the events of 2010. What has happened in your life last year. Many people have had to deal with major issues last year. Forclosures and job losses are skyrocketing. The obituary page in the paper seems to be getting bigger and bigger. I could go on, but why? As we begin this brand new year, many are making "resolutions" or goals for this year. Do they include God?
The only goal I had for 2010 was to read the Bible cover to cover. You know what? I did it. I got help from The One Year Bible. This Bible is not like your average Bible in that it breaks the Bible up into 15 minute daily Bible readings. It was through the power of God that I was able to achieve that goal. What are your goals for this year? Do they include God? Why not make it a goal to read the Word of God through this year? If that is too ambitious, then commit to reading through the New or Old Testament, or maybe the Psalms and Proverbs through. Just get into the Word of God this year, and apply what He reveals to you into your life. Happy New Year.
