14Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
15What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
16Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
-Job 21:14-16 (KJV)
These are some of the saddest verses of Scripture I think we find in the Bible. Why? Because it talks about people who live their lives without any thought of God. Look at what Job says. They tell God to depart from them, they don't want to know Him. God is not like the Easter bunny or Santa Claus. God is real, He is the Creator of all that is around us. How could you and to exclude God from your life? Sadly, though, this is the state our country is heading to. I firmly believe the time will come when God will be totally banished from our country-right down to our freedom to worship.
We need to repent and give God first place in our lives. Then, we can show people the One who is deserving of worship, the One whom we should serve, and learn His ways. It must start with those who claim to follow Him. Look at what these ungodly people say. As Christians, as children of God, do we really want God in our lives? Do we want to know the knoweldge of His ways? Do we want to serve God? Do we want to pray and seek His face? You see, too many of us want God in our lives, just as long as He doesn't want to "mess" things up. We want to live our lives as we want, but we want the assurance of salvation. It doesn't work that way. When you accept Jesus, a change happens. Your desire should be to become the person that Jesus wants you to be. Is that your desire today? Think About It.
