It's Your Choice
10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
-2 Thessalonians 2:10
Isn't it awesome when God opens your eyes to something in Scripture? Maybe you've read and studied a particular verse many times, but this time when you read it, something clicked. My friends, that is part of the work of the Holy Spirit. I've read through Paul's letters many times, but this time, something in verse 10 jumped out at me. Look at the end of verse 10.
"because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." What jumped out at me? This verse reveals why some people are condemned to Hell. I've heard people say things like, "How can God send people to Hell?", or, "My God is a God of love, therefore He will not send anyone to a place like Hell." My friends, this verse clearly states something that I've said for years on the various broadcasts I've done. God doesn't send anyone to Hell, you send yourself to Hell.
Why are people condemned to Hell? Because they have not received the love of the truth. Maybe looking at a different translation will help you see it better. This is what the NIV says, "They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved." You see, it is your choice to give your life to Christ. It is your choice if you reject Him. You perish in Hell because you have refused Jesus, and therefore cannot be saved. I'm not going to write much more, because I feel this verse says it all. The choice is yours. Will you accept the truth, accept the fact that Jesus is the one and only way to Heaven (John 14:6)? Or will you reject the truth and spend eternity in Hell. Think About It.
