About Job: His Trials, Part 2

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
   and naked I will depart.[a]
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
   may the name of the LORD be praised.”
-Job 1:21 (NIV)

Secondly, we need to realize that we brought nothing into this world. As Job said in verse 21, "Naked I came from my mothers womb and naked I will depart." When we were born, we didn't come with a new pair of Arizona Jeans, Nike sneakers and Tommy Hilfiger polo shirt. We came with nothing, and we will take nothing out of this life. If you want to develop a solid trust in God, you need to realize that the only thing you'll take from this life is God. You can cling to God, hang on to God.

Thirdly, everything we have comes from God. Since we brought nothing into this world, God supplies us with the things we need. Remember, God created the world and all that is in it. Everything was created by Him, and everything belongs to Him. If you want to develop your trust in God, you need to realize that everything you have come from God. You didn't earn anything, everything you have comes from a God who loves His children.

We looked at three things we need to understand in order to develop a rock solid faith in God. Our barriers to trusting God are broken only when we quit listening for God's still small voice, and start looking at things through the eyes of the world. Are there things blocking your relationship and faith in God? If so, what is it? Think About It.
