Follow Jesus

46And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
-Luke 6:46 (KJV)

Jesus asks us a pointed question here. How would you respond to it?

Verse 46, Jesus says, "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say." The title "Lord" means that Jesus has power and authority over our lives. In other words, by calling Him "Lord," you are putting Him in charge of your life. So, why are you putting Jesus in charge of your life, then not doing what He's called you to do? Jesus said in John 14:23-24, "23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.We prove our love for Jesus by doing what He's asked us to do, by doing the things He has called us to. On the flip side, we prove that we do not love Jesus by not keeping His commandments.

Why do we call Jesus our Lord and Savior? Did you know that you can receive Jesus as your Savior and keep Him from being your Lord? We must follow Jesus, in all areas of our lives and at all times. Not just when we feel like it. If Jesus looked you in the eye and asked you why you call Him Lord, and do not the things He says, how would you answer? Think About It.
