The Choice Is Yours

12 Do not let sin control the way you live;[a] do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
-Romans 6:12-13 (NLT)

This week, we're studying about our mind, and the battle for control of our mind. I really think Romans 6:12-13 gives to us some important things. This verse addresses our choices. Let's dig in.

Verse 12 says, "Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires." Our lives are controlled either by sin or by God. When Paul writes "Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires" Paul is writing about choices. We have a choice each day, each minute of each day, whether we are going to give in to our sinful desires. He writes, in verse 13, "Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin." We can pass the buck about sin all we want, but he fact is we choose whether we let ourselves be overcome with sin, or whether we let ourselves be used by God. Paul tells us, in these verses, not to give into sin, not to let sin control us, and not allow any part of our body to fall into sin. It's your choice.

Verse 13 says, "Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God." So the choice is your, today. Are you going to choose to allow your body to be an instrument of evil to serve sin? Or are you going to give yourself completely to God, and use your body to do what is right for the glory of God? The choice is laid before you, and it's your choice. Think About It.
