Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 4:13-14 (KJV)
As we start this brand new year, we tend to make resolutions that we abandon before the end of January. We get discouraged, we feel like failures. Not Paul teaches us something we should strive for.
We must "forgetting those things which are behind," Satan loves to remind us of our past mistakes and failures. We must forget those things. We must forget about our status in life, we must forget what we were and focus on what is ahead. Paul says, in verse 14, "I press on". He presses on, following the leading of God.
Are you pressing on in your walk with Jesus? Or are you allowing your past failures and mistakes to control your future? Think About It.
