Are You Willing To Give God Everything?

41 Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts. 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins.
43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”
-Mark 12:41-44 (NLT)

Are you willing to give all you have to Jesus? This account in Mark 12 reveals the heart of a true follower of Jesus. Jesus was sitting by the temple collection box and watched as people gave their money. No doubt Jesus knew their hearts, knew about their giving. He saw many people giving large amounts. Then, in verse 42, "Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins." Many before her dropped in large amounts. I'm sure she probably felt embarrassed at the amount she dropped in. Yet, look at Jesus' words in verse 43-44, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on." She gave it all. Whether it is time, money or anything else, God doesn't want our surpluses, God doesn't want our leftovers, God wants everything. That poor widow gave all she had to live on, and I'm sure God blessed her in a big way. Are you willing to give God everything? Think About It.
