God's Love

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
-Romans 8:38-39 (KJV)

We celebrated Valentine's Day this week, a day of love. We show our love for our wife, husband, girl friend or boy friend by purchasing things like heart shaped boxes or chocolate and oversize stuffed teddy bears. Maybe you took your significant other out to a nice dinner, or even a week long vacation. The point is, we show our love for others. But, what happens when something breaks that love?

It's no secret that the divorce rate is high in America. In fact, I found these statistics online, and I thought they were interesting:

According to enrichment journal on the divorce rate in America:
The divorce rate in America for first marriage is 41%
The divorce rate in America for second marriage is 60%
The divorce rate in America for third marriage is 73%*

These stats are disheartening. Is it any wonder, with divorce rates like these, that people have a hard time believing in God? Many people look for love in all the wrong places, just take another look at the divorce rates above. Look at what Paul says about the love of God in Romans 8:38-39:

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing, nothing will separate you and me from the love of God. Look at Paul's list: Neither death, life, angels, principalities, powers, present things, future things, height, depth, any creature. In other words, NOTHING will separate you from the love of God. God loves you, and we'll look more deeply at that tomorrow. For now, since there is NOTHING that can separate God's love for you, is there something in your life that separates your love for God? Think About It.
