And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
-Romans 12:2 (KJV)
Here is a question that I want you to think about today. I mean honestly think about. As we start this new week, think about this: "Am I a conformer or a transformer?"
Paul writes in Romans 12:2, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Each and every person that is reading this article is either a conformer or a transformer. Paul says right at the beginning of verse 2, "And be not conformed to this world." What does it mean to be conformed? Conformed means to "behave according to socially acceptable conventions or standards, to be similar, assuming the same form." In other words, Paul is telling us not to be similar, not to be like the world. Don't be like the sin nature, don't give in to the pressures of sin. Instead, Paul tells us "but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." We must have a change of mind, we must allow God to transform our minds from the things of the world, to the things in Him. Only then, can we "prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." The only way we can know and prove what is that will of God for our lives (the good, acceptable and perfect will of God), is to have our minds transformed to Him. Maybe that is why so many people don't know the will of God for their lives-they never had that transformed mind.
So I ask you again, is your life conformed to this world, or has your mind been transformed to God? Think About It.
