When Was The Last Time YOU Shared YOUR Faith?

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
-2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV)

In a survey of 325,000 Americans in 2011 found that 78%* said they were Christian, according to a Gallup poll.  They also found that 82%* of Americans identified with a religion. These numbers are interesting. Here is a blog post (not mine) from 2010 that says about 3 to 4% of people sitting in the church is actually a real Christian **. What do these stats tell us? I think we have work to do. Here is another one for you: Churchleaders.com reports that less than 20% of Americans regularly attend church***. Just 20%! Why the decline? I feel it has to do with what Paul told Timothy.

We read this, in 2 Timothy 2:2, "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." Paul is teaching Timothy that he must teach others the things that Paul taught him. You see, Timothy didn't have the luxury of having a New Testament to preach from. He learned, from Paul, the tenants of our faith. He was commanded to teach those things to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Paul taught Timothy, Timothy taught faithful men, the faithful men would teach others. Somewhere down through the ages something happened. Either the message got skewed, or people stopped sharing it. The results? Look at the stats above, or read the articles I've linked below. We must share the Gospel of Jesus. The world needs to hear it. It's time for the real Christians to start teaching others what the Word of God says, and we must do it boldly. I spend a great amount of time on Facebook. People are always sharing others status updates, others photos, and the like. When was the last time you shared the Gospel on Facebook?
