God's Amazing Love

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.
-Romans 5:6 (New Living Translation)

Have you ever just sat back and thought about the love that God has for you and me? It's not just any kind of love, it's a love is unspeakable. Look at what Paul says in Romans 5:6.

"When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners." In other words, when we were so deep in sin, when we couldn't ever live up to the Law of God, when we were not caring about God or His Law, that is when Jesus died for us, a sinner. Just think about that for a minute. Paul goes on, in verses 7-8 to talk about the amazing love that God has for you and me. "Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." Paul is saying that people will not die for another, but maybe for someone who is especially good. Verse 8 says, "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." While we were sick in sin, that's when Jesus came. Have you let this reality set in?
