23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
-Psalm 139:23-24 (KJV)
I spent a weekend in Gatlinburg, TN. If you watch or listen to our weekly broadcasts, you know how much I love the Smoky Mountains. Anyway, my Dad and I were visiting an attraction called "Christ In The Smokies." They have a statue there that is a sculpture of the face of Christ. It's done in such a way that, no matter what angle you are looking at it, the face is always looking at you. It's kind of freaky. There were only 6 of us on the tour, and when we got to the place where the sculpture was, both my Dad and I would start at one end of the garden and walk to the other. All the while, the face of Christ was following us.
It got me to thinking, Jesus really is watching us. The writer of Psalm 139 wrote, " 1O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. 2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. 3Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways." Jesus knows everything about you, He knows when you wake up, when you lie down, where you are going, He knows it all. Just like that sculpture I wrote about earlier, Jesus always has His eye on you. The Psalmist ends the Psalm with a prayer, make it your own.
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Ask God to search you and try you. Make sure there is nothing that will sever that relationship between you and Him. Then, allow God to lead you in the paths He has for you. Will you make this your desire today? Think About It.
