Have You Denied Jesus? Part 3

31But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.
-Mark 14:31 (KJV)

We've been studying on the topic of denying Jesus. We looked at how Jesus predicted that they will all fall away from Him. We looked at Peter's denial of Jesus. There is one more thing I want us to see in Mark 14:31.

The Bible tells us, in Mark 14:31, that all the other disciples said the same thing. Look at the verse again. "But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all." Each and every person at the supper table that night pledged the exact same thing, they pledged their allegiance to Jesus. The disciples that were there that night promised to never disown Him. They promised to be with Him till the very end. What did they do? Mark 14:50 says, "And they all forsook him, and fled." Judas came with the temple guards to arrest Jesus. When the going got tough, the Disciples got going. They deserted Jesus at the time He needed them most.

Have you denied Jesus today? Maybe you are true to Jesus on Sunday, but what happens on Monday when you return to work or school? Are you still true to Him then, or do you disown Him? Over the course of the next few days, we'll look at ways that you and I deny Jesus. Until then, think of ways that we might deny Jesus. Think About It.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
Why is it so hurtful when others let you down?

Peter declared his allegiance to Jesus in Mark 14:29. How did Jesus respond? How did Peter respond?

Have you denied Jesus today, this week or this month? If so, how? Allow God to reveal ways tat you may have denied Him.

Pray and ask God to forgive you for the ways you've denied Jesus. Pray and ask God for His help, strength and guidance to keep you from denying Him.
