Fools (Not Just on April 1)

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. 2The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
-Psalm 14:1-2 (KJV)

Happy April Fool's Day. Here are a couple of interesting things, stats if you will about April Fools Day.

I thought these were pretty funny. I can imagine people trying to get the glued quarter off the ground. I had a friend who likens April Fools Day to National Atheist Day.

Psalm 14:1-2 says, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. 2The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God." The person who doesn't believe in God, or doesn't believe in God, the Bible calls a fool. A fool is defined as: "a silly or stupid person; a person who lacks judgment or sense.*" A person who doesn't believe in the existence of God is a person who lacks judgment or sense. They don't have the sense to look around and see the existence of God, they want to prove there isn't a God by their own intelligence. In describing the fool, the Psalmist says, "They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." Look at how the Bible describes the fool who says there is no God. Corrupt, done abominable works, don't do good. The person who says there is no God is corrupt, they are guilty of dishonest practices, lacking integrity. Their works are repugnant, detestable to God, and they do no good. Do you want to be described this way?  I know I don't.

Friends, as we play pranks this April Fools Day, one thing you don't want to miss is God. We don't want to play with God either. It's time to get serious about our faith, about our life in Him. Verse 2 says, "The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God." Do you understand? Do you seek God? Or are you just a fool who doesn't believe in Him? Think About It.
