Ten Plus Faith

When He entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, in terrible agony!”
“I will come and heal him,” He told him.
“Lord,” the centurion replied, “I am not worthy to have You come under my roof. But only say the word, and my servant will be cured. For I too am a man under authority, having soldiers under my command.[b] I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”
10 Hearing this, Jesus was amazed and said to those following Him, “I assure you: I have not found anyone in Israel with so great a faith! 11 I tell you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13 Then Jesus told the centurion, “Go. As you have believed, let it be done for you.” And his servant was cured that very moment.
-Matthew 8:5-13 (HCSB)

If I were to ask you to rate your level of faith on a scale of 1-10, where would you put it? Where do you think God would put it? We see a story in Matthew 8 of a person whose faith would be rated at a 10.

A Roman centurion came and asked Jesus to heal his servant. Jesus said he would come and heal his ailing servant. His response, "'Lord,' the centurion replied, 'I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. But only say the word, and my servant will be cured.'" Wow, what a great display of faith. This man knew that Jesus could heal his ailing servant, even at a distance. Jesus said, in verse 10, "Hearing this, Jesus was amazed and said to those following Him, 'I assure you: I have not found anyone in Israel with so great a faith!'" Then, in verse 13, "Then Jesus told the centurion, 'Go. As you have believed, let it be done for you.' And his servant was cured that very moment." The centurion had faith that Jesus could heal his sick servant. And his servant was healed.

Again, I ask you: What is your level of faith? Is your faith strong enough to know that Jesus can heal, even with just a word? Or is it one that must be seen to be believed? On a scale of 1-10, where would your faith be rated? Think About It.
