Trained Eyes

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
-Psalm 139:23-24 (KJV)

I was watching a friend operate her machine the other day at work. As the product was coming out of the machine, on the way to the bundler, she would look at each box coming down the line, and group them in stacks to be bundled together. The ones that were correct, she grouped together, the ones that had a defect, she would pull out and put aside to be reworked later. She did it quickly. She had the trained eye to spot out the problems, the ones that would not be correct. I asked myself, "How could she spot the problem ones so quickly?" She knew what the product should look like and, knowing that, could pick out the bad product quickly.

God knows what He wants you to become. He also knows the defects of sin that linger in our lives. He has that keen eye to spot out pitfalls and danger in our lives. The writer of Psalm 139 says in verse 23, "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts." We need to let God point out the defects of sin in our lives, the things that will cause us to stumble and fall. He goes on, in verse 24, "And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Once the defects of sin is removed in the way of life, we'll be able to clearly follow God in the way He wants us to go, so that we can become the people He wants us to be.

Friends, are you allowing God to show you areas in your life that need changing? Think About It.
