A Life Acceptable To God

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
-Psalm 19:14 (KJV)

May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to you,
Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

-Psalm 19:14 (NLT)

We talked a lot about our speech last week. I wanted to finish it up with this verse, Psalm 19:14. In this Psalm, David talks about the Word and commandments of God being good, teaching us to do His will. He ends this Psalm with, what I believe, is a prayer.

Verse 14 says, "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer." I would like to spend the next couple days looking at how our words, and how the contemplation of our heart, is acceptable to God. For the mean time, though, will you make this your prayer? As God to help you control the words coming out of your mouth. Ask God to direct the contemplation of your heart. Desire to live a life acceptable to God. Think About It.
