For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin,[a] so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
-Second Corinthians 5:21 (New Living Translation)
If you're looking for an easy verse to use to talk about salvation, and what God did for us, through Jesus, then this verse is it. It's salvation in a nutshell.
Paul writes, "For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ." God provided Jesus to be the offering for your sin and mine, so that we can be made right with God. Sin separates us from God. God hates sin, and sin cannot be in the presence of God. We're all guilty of sin. It's only through the offering of Jesus that we can be forgiven for that sin.
Have you ever thought about the magnitude of your sin? Have you ever, truly, thought about all it cost God to obtain forgiveness? Think About It.
